Erect densely tufted, perennial grass. Long lived & deep rooted. Widespread in open forest, woodlands & grasslands. Thrives in moist areas but reasonably hardy. Important for stabilisation, erosion control and as food source for gouldian, long-tailed & other finches. Endemic to Australia. 1-1.2M
