About Territory Native Plants

Territory Native Plants operate a retail outlet based in Millner, servicing the residential home owner and a production nursery in Berry Springs specialising in the bulk supply of quality NT Native Plants to the trade. The nursery is operated by Tim Moore and Travis Messner, long term Top End locals who are passionate about the promotion of NT Native Plants as an ecologically sustainable alternative to exotics plantings. We propagate over one hundred and fifty species common to the Top End’s wet dry tropics, including large termite resistant shade trees, bird and butterfly attracting feature plants and fragrant, flowering native shrubs. TNP also specialise in a large range of cyclone resistant native shade trees suitable for woodland, coastal, monsoon forest and riverine habitats.

“Native vegetation protects water resources and maintains water table levels, sustains biodiversity, provides habitats for native wildlife [and] provides NT residents with a sense of place and identity.”

The beauty of Territory Native Plants

Native plantings provide habitat for native fauna and increase biodiversity…[but] bigger is not always better. Smaller plants that are well looked after will often outperform larger plants. Native tree and shrub species tend to perform better when they spend less time in pots and are planted from smaller stock.
